TIDAL WAVE STRIKES PORT IN SARDINIA
CAGLIARI (Sardinia), Rec. 11 p.m. Feb. 29. The most violent tidal wave in living memory struck the. port and sank four barges and two sloops, and tore the hawsers off all the moored craft. The wave completely washed away a new pier under construction and breached the existing pier.
