“I saw the victory celebrations display in London in 1946 and the World Fair series in New York before the war but the show on Saturday night topped them all,” said Mr E. C. Burton, principal foreign representative of the Link-Belt Company, Toronto, describing his impression of the display at Hancock Park to the Daily Times last night.
“For some years I was a director of the Canadian National Exhibition, one of the world’s largest annual fairs, and included in its yearly programme was a fireworks show. I can honestly say,” Mr Burton added, “ that we never had anything to equal what I saw on Saturday night. I have also seen some huge crowds but never so many people packed into such an area as at the park. My only regret is that I missed your earlier celebrations,”
