ENGINEERS’ CONFERENCE
TECHNICAL PAPERS DISCUSSED The morning session of the conference of the New Zealand Institution of Engineers in the Town Hall yesterday was devoted to the presentation of a paper by Mr F. M. H. Hanson, of Wellington, dealing with the construction and maintenance of roads. In the afternoon Mr A. D. Mead (Auckland) presented a paper which studied the rainfall in his province. A treatise entitled “Bank Protection in Alluvial Streams ” by the late Mr A. P. Grant, was also discussed. A social and dance in the Concert Chamber last night was well attended.
