DRASTIC REDUCTIONS
FAR. EASTERN FLEET Rec. 11 p.m. HONGKONG, Nov. 7. The naval authorities reported today -that the Royal Navy’s Far Eastern Fleet would be reduced drastically within a month. All heavy units would be sent to Britain, and only a few destroyers and sloops would remain in Hongkong. Warships in Hongkong at present, in addition to H.M.A.S. Australia, which is here on a routine visit, are the aircraft carrier Thesus, the light cruiser Gambia, the depot ship Adamant. six destroyers, five .escort vessels. four submarines, and three naval storeships.
