WAIKOUAITI
MUSIC FESTIVAL The second performance of the Eastern Districts Music Festival was held in the Athenaeum Hall, Waikouaiti, last Wednesday. The massed choir of over 200 voices was conducted by Mr W. Blight, of the Palmerston District High School, and a high standard of singing was maintained. At the conclusion, the Mayor, Mr R. M. /Templeton, congratulated the organisers, conductors, accompanists and the young singers on their performance RUGBY FOOTBALL Owing to the flood rains recently the match Alhambra v. Waikouaiti, to be played at Waikouaiti ’on Saturday, has been postponed.
