UNIVERSAL FAMILY BENEFIT
Sir,—l know several old people who pay 15s 6d or £1 a week rent who find by the time they buy coal and food there is' very little over, certa nly nothing to buy clothes. As most men are getting good wages nowadays I consider 10s a week for a family benefit ample, in fact. I know some women who spend the money on unnecessary luxuries. Surely nothing is too good for the old people who have had to undergo hardships we know nothing about.—l am, etc., Hands Off the Old Folk.
