KEEN DEMAND FOR STOCK Special to the Daily Times • OAMARU, Aug. 19. There was a large yarding of fat cattle and a small yarding of fat sheep at today's Waiareka sale, the stock in both sections meeting with a keen demand. For fat cattle, prices showed an increase of 15s to £1 per head on last week’s rates, and fat wethers improved by about 10s per head. Extra good quality ewes brought high prices. There was a fair yarding of pigs, weaners bringing from 30s to £2. Quotations:— Fat Cattle.—Steers: Extra prune, £2B 10s to £3O 15s: prime, £25 to £26 10s; medium, £2O to £24; light, £l6 5s to £l9.
