PROPOSALS FOR EXECUTIVE REPRESENTATION

Rec. 9 p.m. GENEVA, Aug. 19. Because the Australian, South African and Norwegian delegates to the conference severely criticised the plan for representation on the executive board to the International Trade Organisation, the preparatory committee has decided to submit three proposals to the world trade conference,., which will be held in Havana. The proposals are first, the sub-committee’s scheme for seven permanent seats and regional representation for Arab States, Scandinavian countries, Latin-Amexican republics and other undefined groups which include New Zealand, Australia and South Africa; secondly, eight permanent seats and nine members to be elected in open conference and thirdly, an executive board of 15 members without provision for any permanent seats.
