ANNUAL ’MEETING The moderator, the Rev. A. Marshall, presided over a large attendance at the anuual meeting of St. Paul s Presbyterian Church on Monday night Mr Marshall in welcoming all present said the past year had been happy and prosperous. Several members of the congregation paid tributes to Mr Marshall’s inspiring addresses on Sunday mornings to the childtMr Kinder, in moving the the adoption of the session report, stated Mr and Mrs Marshall on all occasions had g*ven °f their best. The attendances, especially at the morning services, had been well maintained, and the session had kept pate with the extensions and alterations which were necessary at Eveline Church. Church organisations Mr A. R. Tait, in presenting the Management. Committee's report and balance sheet said there had not been a great deal of maintenance and repair work; carried out., but estimates had been made, and synod had been approached for itssupport. Arrangements were being made for the purchase of a projector.| During the year £3774 8s 2d had passed through the books and a record amount of £ 131 had been contributed to the F.b.s.A. at Eveline the alterations to the church had been completed and paid for and a c nsiderabie sum was in hand for futuie alterat.ons and maintenance. Mr Knowles outlined the repairs to be carried out on the exterior of the church and hall, and stated these would cost a considerable sum. . i Mv* a. H. 11. Pearce, in presenting the Eveline reports, stated that on some Sundays the church was more than comfortably filled. All were sorry to leain that the Very Rev. C-. H. Jupp would be relinautshing his office at the end pi the year The P.W.M.U. and Guild had been very active in raising funds, and in th not too distant future a Sunday School would have to be built. In presenting the Sunday school report, the superintendent, Mr Mills, made an appeal for teachers, especially in the primary department. Mr Mills said there were 75 children in tilts department and only four teachers. McPherson' War Memorial The Management Committee’s recommendation that the war memorial in honour of members who served in the recent war be in the form of an honours board and stained glass window or windows was approved.
