UNION OF BURMA
SEPARATE STATES PROPOSED Rec 8.40 p.m. RANGOON, Aug. 16. The Burma Constituent Assembly carried a resolution by the Premier, Thakin Nu. that Shans and Kachins should have separate States within the Union of Burma. The Assembly agreed that Shans and Kachins should have direct representation in the Burma Legislature.
