BIBLE CLASS FESTIVAL

The necessity for competitors choos-' ing pieces within the scope of their ability was stressed by Mr T. Staples, judge of the instrumental sections, on the concluding night of the Presbyterian Bible Classes’ annual musical and dramatic competitions, held m the Concert Chamber. Mr Staples remarked on the high standard attained, with particular reference to the junior sections. The Saturday evening session was devoted mainly to vocal solos, trios and four-part choral work, the judge being Mr James Clark. ■ The final placings for the competitions were:—Musselburgh (49 points) 1. Opoho (19J) 2, Kaikorai (18) 3. Caversham (17$) 4. Individual awards were as follows: Junior Young Women’s Vocal Solo. —Miss A.
