SOLENT FLYING BOATS NO EARLY DELIVERY p.A AUCKLAND, Aug. 17. • The view that the four Solent flyinj boats which were to be purchased tc replace the present planes on tht Tasman service could not be delivered before the end of 1948 was expressed by .Sir Leonard Isitt, chairman of the National Airways Corporation, whe returned to-day from the South Pacific Air Transport Council meeting at Canberra. Sir Leonard said .that so far as he knew the order for the flying boats had already been placed. The decision to purchase them would pot affect the delivery of a further Tasman class flying boat, which was.expected to arrive in September or October.
