RANFURLY SHIELD

AUCKLAND TEAM ARRIVES The touring Auckland Rugby football team arrived in Dunedin by bus from Invercargill yesterday afternoon. The All ‘Blacks, P. L. Tetzlaff and, R. W. H. Scott, arrived by car from Auckland to join the party, and W. S. Edwards, a forward, has also arrived to take part in the Ranfurly Shield match at Carisbrook on Wednesday. ■ The manager of the team, Mr' G. Orrell, who is the chairman of Management Committee "of the Auckland Rugby Union, told the E|aily Times that all members of the party were fit and well. They had had a good game in Invercargill, although they had been a little puzzled at times at some of the rulings of the referee. Mr Orrell said that something should be done to ensure that interpretatibns of the rules were the same throughout the country, and he proposed to take the matter up on his return to Auckland.

The team to represent Auckland on Wednesday has not yet been picked, but the inclusion of Tetzlaff, Scott and Edwards is expected to strengthen it considerably. The Aucklanders' are confident that they will make a strong bid to win the shield, and a stirring game is expected on Wednesday.
