Barnes, said: “ The court has not given an increase of 3d an hour to the New Zealand workers. After. October 1 of this year the vast majority of workers will find that they have received nothing at all.” He added that, in view of the all-time high levels in company profits generally reached last year, he thought the advocates of constitutionalism and Arbitration Court machinery for settling workers grievances would be talking to pretty difficult audiences.”
