HIGH-CLASS ACCOMMODATION P.A. WELLINGTON, Aug. 15. The New Zealand Shipping Company states that the twin-screw motor ship Hurunui is one of two. sister ships under construction by Vickers Armstrong for the company and the associated Federal Steam Navigation Company under their replacement programme. The Hurunui will be capable of carrying about 14,000 tons dead weight on a summer draught of 32ft 6in. The ship will have a deep cruiser stern and a raked bow with a flare forward above the load line. The accommodation will be of a high standard and in excess of that normally fitted in a ship not intended to carry passengers. All personnel are berthed amidships. The Hurunui is expected to enter service early in the new year.
