UNION ADAMANT
LAST CARS FROM RACECOURSE P.A. AUCKLAND, Aug. 15, There is much speculation here on just how thousands of racegoers will get home from to-morrow’s Pakuranga Hunt meeting at Ellerslie. The Tramway Union is adamant that all tramcars and buses will leave the racecourse at 4.15 p.m., 10 minutes before the start of the last race. In an official statement the union says: "We would remind all concerned that, while some progressive clubs are willing to adapt their programmes to the changed conditions of the full general holiday on Saturdays, others still appear to live in the dim past.”
