ACCLIMATISATION
MEETING OF COUNCIL The monthly meeting of the Waitakl Acclimatisation Society was attended by Dr E. E. Butler, chairman, and Messrs A. Rennie, J. Wray, J. Keen, S. Tonkin, C. Andrew, J. Beswick, W. Thomas, A. Dun, and R. B. Gibb. Accounts totalling £lO 17s were passed for payment. The Otago and South Canterbury Societies advised they were not in a position to supply trout fry during the coming season. , , An opportunity was taken to bid farewell to Mr A* Dun, who has been transferred to New Plymouth as manager of the National Mortgage and Agency Company there. Dr Butler said the council was losing not only a good companion and keen fisherman, but also a councillor of experience with sound business knowledge and one whose time had always been at the disposal of the society. Dr Butler presented Mr Dun with a pipe on behalf of the society, and extended to him congratulations on his promotion A minute thanking Mr Dun for his services as a member of the council for 15 years, was placed on the books. Mr Dun suitably replied.
