A net profit of £1515, against £1424 the previous year, is shown in the accounts of the Victoria Laundry Company, Ltd., to May 31, 1947. With £2lll brought in and £IOOO. transferred from the deferred maintenance fund, there is £4626 available, The dividend, raised from 3 to 4 per cent., will take £1894 (£1420), leaving £2732 to be carried forward. The directors state that, though the company’s operations have again been hampered by the general shortage of labour, there has been an increase in the gross turnover, and a substantial amount of deferred maintenance has been carried out.
