DUNEDIN ALLOCATION EXCEEDED NEED FOR IMPROVEMENT By achieving a saving of only 8.82 per cent, for the week -ended at midnight on Sunday, consumers of electricity in the Dunedin supply area acain exceeded their weekly, allocation If there is not an improvement this'week, when the minimum saving required will again be 10 per cent., the authorities will have to consider the introduction of some method to ensure that the minimum saving is. achieved, said the City Electrical Engineer. Mr G. T. Edgar, yesterday. The percentage of saving each day last week was as follows:— Monday 10 00, Tuesday 15.57, Wednesday 3.71, Thursday 7.82. Friday 9.33. Salurday 5.30 and Sunday 8.26. The weekly percentage of power saved in Dunedin since the introduction of the restrictions has been as follows: Week ended June 8 (20 per cent, quired).—lß.67 per cent. June 15 (30 per cent.).—29.515 per cent. June 22 (30 per cent.).—29.63 per cent. June 29 (20 per cent.).—23,68 per cent. July 6 (20 per cent.).—20.34 per cent. July 13 (20 per cent.).—25.12 per cent. July 20 (20 per cent, for five days, 10 per cent for two days, average required 17 per cent,).—19.41 per cent. July 27 GO per cent.).—9.o6 per cent. August 3 (10 per cent.).—B.B2 per cent. Falling by half an inch on Sunday, the level of Lake Mahinerangi was 66ft lin yesterday.
