Disturbing Effect on International Affairs Of Crisis in Britain
WASHINGTON, Rec. 8.50 p.m. Aug. 3. Officials now express the opinion that “ justifiable ” aid will be given to Britain sooner, but much will depend on the American judgment of the measures which Britain takes to help herself. The correspondent says that the really serious point of concern is that Britain’s recurrent financial crises and the effect they have on economic and political thinking throughout the world, render less able the partnership of the two nations in world affairs, especially in relation to the Soviet Union.
