A RECORD YEAR
WINTER SHOW CONCLUDES The 1947 Winter Show of the Otago Agricultural and Pastoral Society, which concluded last night, was stated by officials to have been a recordbreaking fixture. Each day the gate takings showed an increase over those of last year, the figure yesterday being £297 2s 6d, as compared with £252 8s in 1846. .. By 11 o’clock last night most of the exhibits had been removed from the stalls, and to-day the work of dismantling the stands will be done. The cattle were to have been despatched to Burnside by train early this morning, either for killing or trucking. A tribute to the work of the honorary committee and stewards was paid by the secretary of the. society, Mr R. D. Stewart, last night, and much of the success of the show .was attributed by him to their efforts.
