Lorna Leigh will make her appearance in open company In the Empire Handicap on Saturday. The appearance of Hakim in the King George Handicap will add interest to the race. Formerly trained by G. New, the Bulandshar gelding is now in A. E. Didham’s stable. Logical Favourite In the Dominion Handicap, Wild Note has been lifted 21b for running third in the Southern Handicap, and as Kirkella and Front Page, who finished in front of him, are not engaged, he looks the logical favourite. Empire Handicap In the Winter Handicap, of seven furlongs, Patmos 8.0 finished fourth and St. Nattar 9.8 was unplaced after being one of the pacemakers for most of the journey. In the Empire Handicap, over a furlong less ground, Patmos is still 'on the minimum and St. Nattar has been sent up 21b.

Hurdling Recruit Navua, a newcomer in the Greenfield Hurdles, is a half-brother to Signal Officer, being an aged gelding by Nigger Minstrel from Morse Signal. He is one of the team of H. Anderton, who also has Desert Trel? and Robert in the same race. From Palantua

Fine Night shows every promise of developing into a good stayer, and he was travelling like a possible place-getter in the Aerodrome Handicap on Monday when he fell. By Nightly, he is out of the New Zealand Cup winner, Palantua.

Nigger Lad Nigger Lad appeared to be going well in third place when he fell in the straight in the Brighton Handicap and as he has apparently suffered no ill-effects from the fall, he is not likely to be at ap outside price in the Domain Handicap.

Smart Beginner St. Nattar has been prominent at the end of six furlongs in each of his races at Wingatui and judged on that he is entitled to be one of the favourites for the Empire Handicap. The St. Boswells gelding is a smart beginner and is generally one of the leaders after the shuffle for positions. Consistent Form

Siegtone has recently shown consistent form, her four most recent races having produced two seconds, a third and a fourth? She has finished second in each of her two races at Wingatui, carrying 8.10 on Saturday and 9.0 on Monday, and

she has been lifted 21b for the Aldworth Handicap on Saturday. The Siegfried mare Is also engaged in the Domain Handicap, of seven furlongs, and a win for her would be popular.

Brackets at Wingatul The following horses will be bracketed at Wingatui on Saturday:—Greenfield Hurdles. Desert Trek and Navua; Electric Stakes, Victory Star and All Hurry; Domain Handicap, Robot and Bobby Dazzler; Dunedin Steeples, Irish Wit and French Knight. Staying On Great Chum 8.9 was staying on in third place at the finish of the Aerodrome Handicap on Monday.' In the Aldworth Handicap on Saturday he has the same weight and meets Monday’s winner, Hansel, on 81b, and the second horse, Siegtone, on 21b better terms. Sister to Concrete
