IMPORT LICENCES
AMENDMENTS TO SCHEDULE The following alterations to the import licensing schedule for the 1947 period have been received by the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce from the Comptroller of Customs:— Memo. No. 1947/49.—Currants—ex item 36 (1): Licences will be granted for the importation from Australia of currants to the extent of 125 per cent, of applicants’ 1946 licences for the importation of similar goods from the same source, and raisins (excluding muscatels) to the extent of 110 per cent. Consideration will be given to applications from regular importers for licences to import muscatels from AUstralia. Any such applications must show the quantity as well as the value of muscatels imported by the applicants under their 1946 licences. Memo. No. 1947/49.—Dried apricots and pearlies—ex Item 36 (4): Licences will be granted for the importation of dried apricots and peaches from the United States of America during the 1948 licensing period, to the extent of 100 per cent, of applicants’ imports of similar goods from all sources in 1938 Such licences may be utilised for the importation of goods during the 1947 licensing period. Memo. No. 1947/49.—Jams ex item 45. Consideration will he given to applications for licences to import jam from Australia provided that any such applications show the quantities available, the delivery dates, and are supported by definite evidence of availability. , .. , Memo. No. 1947/49.—Men’s and youths knee gumboots—ex item 197: Consideration will be given to applications for licences to import men’s and youth's’ knee gumboots provided that the applications show the number of pairs as well as the c.i.f.e. value, and are supported by \evidence of availability. Memo. No 1947/49.—Chinaware, etc., suited for table use, etc.—item 214: The decisions in circular memorandum 1947/8 of January 30, 1947, and circular memorandum 1947/21, of March 19. 1947, relating to the noting of licences issued in respect of chinaware, etc., suited for table use are now cancelled.
