SMALL INCREASE IN NETT PROFIT Daily Times Special service AUCKLAND, June 4. The net profit of Wilson’s (N.Z.) Portland Cement. Ltd., for the year ended March 31 was £31,209, an increase of £126 on the result for the previous year. In 1946 net earnings of £25,012 were shown in the published accounts but the subsequent reduction in taxation yielded an excess provision of £6071 from the 1945-46 earnings. In the latest accounts £46,485 is provided for taxation against £51,836 (gross) in the previous year. The dividend is again 5d a share (final 2Jd) equal to 4 1-6 per cent, per annum. This absorbs £25,000 and undivided profits are raised from £45,792, which includes excess tax provision to £52.001. The profit from the sale of cement and lime, after provision of depreciation and all expenses except taxation, was £50,099 against £53,585, while other income (interest. rents, etc.) yielded £27,595 against £23.313.
