FREAK WEATHER
WATERSPOUTS AT BOTANY BAY
Rec. 11 pm. SYDNEY. May 28. The freak weather which made the Sydney temperature to-day the coldest since October created giant waterspouts off Botany Bay. and one measuring 200 feet in the bay itself The minimum temperature in the city was 49.1 degrees. Pilots of planes approaching Mascot aerodrome reported waterspouts up to 1000 feet high 12 miles east of Botany Bay. Scores of residents of Kurnell and Botany Bay <=aw a waterspout lift into a 20-foot mound off Kurnell and then'climb to 200 feel. After threatening a small fishing launch it collapsed 15 minutes later.
