BRADMAN—ALL ROUNDER
FELLOW-PLAYER’S TRIBUTE
“ Don Bradman made a tremendous impression in England in his early days,” said Mr Ben Barnett, the former Australian test wicketkeeper, in a talk to cricketers which was held in the YMCA Hall last night under the auspices of the Carisbrook Cricket Club.
“ Bradman is an extremely gifted man,” Mr Barnett said, “and, in addition to being the world’s best batsman, he is a very good tennis player and golfer, and a very good piano player. He can make his 100 break at billiards, and in England made a good impression as an after-dinner speaker. He is a good business man, and with it all is very unassuming. He does not court publicity, but, being Bradman, he just has to put up with it.”
