BOWLING CLUB SITE
RECOMMENDATION BY RESERVES COMMITTEE
As a result of the deputation from the Oamaru Returned Services’ Association and Oamaru RSA Bowling Club committee to the Reserves Committee of the Oamaru Borough Council regarding the use of the area of the reserve in the It-chen-Severn streets triangle, west of the Drill Hall, for a combined RSA club rooms and bowling green if the site was agreed upon by the special committee set up by the two organisations, the following recommendation will be placed before the Borough Council at its monthly meeting to-night “ That the Reserves Committee observed that one aspect worthy of serious consideration was the possible ‘future value of the area for baths extension and development, but if the RSA strongly desired the area the committee recommended it should be made available at a peppercorn rental, subject to an assurance by the Railways Department that the land was not likely to be required for the elimination of the Severn street crossing.
