SELECTORS APPOINTED Messrs D. S. Loder and R. Brown were appointed selectors of the North Otago senior and junior Rugby representative teams respectively, at a meeting of the Management Committee of the North Otago Rugby Union on Monday night. The meeting was attended by Messrs Bill Berry (chairman), R. Brown, W. I. Budd, H. W. Cross, W. R. Laney, J. Benson, D. S. Loder, D. J. G. Lawrie, W. Brown, J. Firman, J. Macmillan and H. S. Strachan. There was a long discussion on the appointment of a senior selector, some of the members indicating a preference for a selector who was not a coach, but on a motion to this effect being put to the meeting the suggestion was lost, and Mr Loder was appointed unanimously. The chairman reported that he had been in touch with the Waitaki Electric Power Board regarding the installation of a flood-light at the Show Grounds. The board, he said, could instal a light at an approximate cost of £l3. —It was left to the Grounds Committee to arrange for the installation of the light, provided the sanction of the North Otago Agricultural and Pastoral Association could be obtained, and it was suggested that a ground other than the Oval be the one to be flood-lit. Transfers Approved The following transfers were approved: —H. W. Golder, from Pahiatua Athletic to Athletic; J. Whyte, from Old Boys to Maheno; C. Hunt, from Maheno to Excelsior. , _ . It was decided to write to the Southland Union asking for the Southland team to play at Oamaru during its short tour at Otago and Southland, and suggesting that the game be a Ranfurly Shield match.

The secretary was instructed to write to the Harlequin Club, Timaru, suggesting a game to be played against North Otago team, at Oamaru, on a date to be arranged.
