MONTHLY CENTRE MEETING At the monthly meeting of the Otago Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association last night, congratulations were extended by the president, Mr C. W Clark, to W. H. Nelson on his brilliant form in Australia recently. In reply, Mr Nelson said that in view of the heavy state of the tracks he had been satisfied with his performances. To make arrangements for a programme of sports meetings during the centennial vear the following special committee was elected: The president, and Messrs J. G. Barnes, L. K. Donovan, and R. M. Carroll. Advice was received that the next Intersecondary schools’ sports meeting would be held in Dunedin next year.—A motion by Mr R. G. Pilling, concerning the introduction of the hop, step, and jump, the javelin, and the discus to the Inter-second-ary schools' sports was defeated. A design for the Hooper Memorial Shield for the Otago Senior Cross-country Championships was approved. Dates for the harrier fixtures during the coming season were approved as follows: May 3. Lovelock Relay; May 10, Ness Cup at Carisbrook; May 17, Kennett Cup; June 14, Edmond Cup-trials at Wingatui: July 19’ club’s cross-country championships at wingatui; August 2, Otago Cross-country Championships at Wingatui; August 16, New Zealand Cross-country Championships (tentative date); September 6, Port Road Race; September 20, Modified Marathon; October 11, harrier sports meeting at Caledonian Ground.
