BRITAIN’S ECONOMIC PLIGHT
NEW AMBASSADOR’S COMMENTS Rec. 7’p.m. ' LONDON, Mar. 16.
Mr Lewis Douglas, the new American Ambassador, reached London Airport from New York. He told interviewers that British and American relations were stronger than ever. He thought England was a grand country. Mr Douglas, during the plane’s call at Shannon, told Irish journalists that Americans had a tremendous sympathy with Britain in her present predicament.
