QUEENSTOWN
CROQUET TOURNAMENT Twenty-three visiting players, from as far afield as Morrinsvflle and Bluff, took part in a croquet tournament at Queenstown on New Year’s Day. Because only one lawn was available', a progressive Doubles system was adopted, with each pair playing for half an hour, and an enjoyable tournament resulted; ‘ The successful pairs were:—Mesdames Melville (Dunedin) and Balch (Christchurch) 1, Mesdames Smith (Invercargill) and Sligo (Timaru) 2, Mrs Gregg (Invercargill) and Mr W. H. Kirk (Geraldine)
