CUSTOMS RETURNS
PORT OF OTAGO HIGHER FIGURES Increases on the figures for, 1045 were shown in Customs and beer duty, and sales, gold and petrol taxes in the returns for the last quarter of 1946 for the Port of Otago. Customs duty showed an increase of £151,037 for the quarter, beer duty £101,757, sales tax £165,867, gold tax £173, and petrol tax £12,175. Increases were also shown in the comparative figures for the month of December. The detailed figures are as follows:
