Mrs B. R. Webster, of Wellington, ts on holiday in Dunedin. Mrs Dora Smeaton, of Royal terrace, will return on Monday from Hanmer. Mr and Mrs F. H. Willis, of Christchurch. have returned north after a visit to Dunedin. Mrs R. L. Stevensono, of Alton avenue, entertained friends at an afternoon tea concert at her home yesterday afternoon. Mrs F. Cottrell and her son, Colonel J D. Cottrell, will leave on Saturday morning for Auckland, where (hey will join the Akaroa for England. Lady Sidey returned on Wednesday from Wellington, where she has been attending an executive meeting of the Free Kindergarten Union. Mrs J. M. Nichol and Miss Joan Nichol, of Waikouaiti, are visiting Wellington for the marriage of Mr Miller Nichol and Miss June Patricia Herbert. In the leadership examination conducted by Dr J. D. Salmond at the South Island Presbyterian Leadership Training School, held recently at Gore, Miss Isobel Lindsay, of Winton. Southland, passed with honours, being in the 80 per cent, to 100 per cent, class. Four representatives from other parts of the South Island gained honours.
