TANKS IN AUSTRALIA (Rec. 11 p.m.) SYDNEY, Aug. 16. White elephants in the Commonwealth Disposals Commission sales are 705 American tanks, including General Grants, Lees and Honeys now in parks in Victoria, West Australia and Queensland. Most of the tanks have Radial petrol engines, but 39 Honeys have Diesel. Approximately 1000 new motor cycles have been released to the public through the motor trade. Other releases include unassembled motor truck chassis valued at £300.000. Sales in the Northern Territory alone are expected to be worth more than £500,000.
