MR JORDAN LOSES PATIENCE
VOICE BREAKS WITH RAGE (Rec. 1.45 a.m.) PARIS, Aug. 16. The New Zealand delegate, Mr W. J. Jordan, lost his temper in the Political and Territorial Commission on Romania and stormed at the Russian delegate for his long speeches and delays, reports the Associated Press correspondent. “Let os do something,’’ Mr Jordan shouted. “Here we sit listening to ‘ Quack, quack, quack,’ hour after hour. We are sick of it.” Mr Jordan was so preturbed that his voice broke when he was saying that an involved speech from the Russian delegate was “ blasted rdt.”
The Russian delegate was arguing that only the countries actually at war against Rumania should have a vote on the commission. Mr Jordan said, “ Let us get on with this blasted conference. Let us do something. Get a president and let us get on with our work. That is what the people expect us to do.” Mr Jordan pointed out that the commission meeting was an hour long and had got nowhere. "We have not even got a chairman,” he said.
