COUP IN ECUADOR FAILS (Rec. 9.25 p.m.) QUITO, Aug. 10. Eighty civilians and retired members of the military attempted a revolutionary coup by storming the Defence' Minister’s building, but guards fought off the attackers, most of whom were arrested.
