LEND-LEASE SETTLEMENT AMERICAN OFFICIAL’S VISIT (P.A.) AUCKLAND, July 25 Visiting New Zealand probably for the last time in his present capacity, Brigadier-general F. B. Butler, representative in the South Pacific of the United States Foreign Liquidation Commission; arrived at Auckland to-day by flying boat. He will leave for Wellington to-morrow mornipg to meet members of the Government.
Brigadier-geneial Butler said the purpose of’ his visit was to complete the last details of the winding up of the lend-lease scheme and the disposal of surplus United States property. Ke added that he had paid about 10 vsiits to New Zealand m connection with the work.
