SMUGGLED HOARD
DISCOVERY ON DUTCH LINER LONDON. July 8. Gold bars, jewels and currency totalling £IOO.OOO were discovered on board the Dutch liner Klipfontein before she sailed from Batavia, says Reuter’s correspondent at The Hague. Two gold dealers who melted and buried the valuables during the Japanese occupation are alleged to have smuggled the goods on board.
