GERMAN ASSETS
HANDED OVER BY SWEDEN WASHINGTON. (Rec. 9 p.m.) . , July 9. Government officials disclosed that Sweden agreed to relinquish about three-quarters of her 387.000,000 dollars’ worth of German assets to the Allied Reparations Commission. About 10,000,000 dollars’ worth of Swedishheld German looted gold will also be surrendered.
A Foreign Office spokesman said Britain thus far had made no move regarding the Russian declaration concerning the taking over of German assets in Austria. The three Power? have not arrived at a definition of what precisely constituted German assets The British Government, therefore, objected to anv action which prejudiced the issue without three-Power consultations.
