LOADING OF BUTTER (Rec. 1.30 ajn.) LONDON, July 8. Mr Will Lawther, the president of the Mineworkers’ Union, received’ a cablegram from the secretary of the New Zealand Waterside Workers’ Union: “My union reluctantly decided to load the first shipment of butter for America. Please advise attitude of your union towards further shipments.”

Mr Lawther said he was consulting members of the Trades Union Congress. He added that the New Zealanders’ sentiments showed a keen understanding to help the British workers in the present food situation.
