Robert Reid, aged 16, who resides' at 264 Pine Hill road, was admitted to the Public Hospital at 4 p.m. on Saturday suffering from concussion received while playing football.
SUDDEN DEATH
(P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, July 7. Mr Sidney William Lane, of Lyttelton, national secretary of the Harbour Boards’ Employees’ Union, died suddenly at Lyttelton on Saturday night, while attending a smoke concert to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the founding of the union. Mr Lane, who was aged 55 years, was employed by the Lyttelton Harbour Board as a wharf attendant.
INJURED IN COLLISION
(P.A.) TIMARU. July 7. Four men were injured when a truck, which is alleged to have been converted, collided with a light car at an intersection at 6.30 p.m. yesterday. They are Keir Robertson, aged 28, concussion; Patrick Joseph Hagerty, aged 27, a seaman on the Samstrae, abrasions and bruised scalp; William Cook, aged 24 concussion; William Galbraith, aged 27| slight concussion and fractured ribs. I’he Vast two. named were the occupants of the car.
