CONGRESS PRESIDENT
PANDIT NEHRU INSTALLED (Rec. 8 p.m.) BOMBAY, July 6. Pandit Nehru, who was installed as Congress president, said that India was now standing on freedom’s doorstep. “The British regime is at the beginning of the end," he added. “This is the most delicate moment in India’s history. We must be prepared to face new problems. We are now faced in India with a grave famine and many economic problems. Our honour has been assailed in South Africa, where there is rampant discrimination against our nationals. We are against all kinds of Imperialism, whether British or any other.”
