FOUND IN RUBBLE

LARGE QUANTITY OF URANIUM (Rec. 10 p.m.) LONDON, July 6. Three-quarters of a ton of uranium was discovered in the rubble of the devastated Krupp works, says the Essen correspondent of the Associated Press. The British military authorities said they believed that Krupps were not using uranium for making the atom bomb, but were probably using uranium oxide experimentally in the production of special hard steel for war heads of projectiles. The ore has been shipped to England because retention in Germany is forbidden under the Potsdam agreement.
