The early leaders were Arctic Dawn, The Raker, and Penetration. Arctic Dawn led along the back from Penetration and The Raker. At the stand double for the second time Arctic Dawn led Appeasement Bravura, and The Raker, who was losing ground at the jumps. Going down the back, Appeasement, Bravura, The Raker, and Arctic Dawn moved up. Bravura took charge and led to the last fence, where Appeasement ran up to the leader. Appeasement led over the last fence and won by three lengths from Bravura, who beat The Raker by a neck. Arctic Dawn was fourth, with Penetration next.

Seadown Handicap Montezuma and Money Bird led a close field to the far turn. At the home turn Montezuma led Nurnie and Kiloney, with Money Bird, Night Fighter, and Burberry in line, followed by Sanskrit. Once well into the straight Sanskrit came with a strong finish and won by two lengths from Burberry, who beat Money Bird by two lengths. Kingsdown Handicap Siegwood opened up a good gap from Deep Harmony. Vulnerable, Kyron, Detain, Eudora, Burnbrae, and Denary. Siegwood led Vulnerable and Deep Harmony into the straight. Deep Harmony won by a length from Fiery Knight, who beat Belfort by a head Burnbrae and Detain were next.
