Y.W.C.A. BEATS O.G.H.S.

Basketball

The Y.W.C.A. forwards found that the determination and vigour of the High School defence broke up their combination, and players were not able to get the ball through. The School players have been very unlucky this season in their games, but the main reason for this is and some very fine work is seen in their play. The half-time score was 6 —3 in favour of Y.W.C.A. In the second half the experience of the Y.W.C.A. team began to show, and after a rather scrappy game they won 16—6. Miss D. Thomson was the referee. Training College B v. Albany

In the first half Albany definitely held the advantage over Training College, M. Roy shooting accurately. The half-time score was 16 —5 in favour of Albany. In the second half the Training College team improved its passing, using a low pass to advantage. The final score was 28—21 in favour of Albany. Miss V. Fleury refereed the game. H.S. Ex-Girls v. Kiwi H.S. Ex-Girls and Kiwi played a very hard game and broke the combination of their opponents. In particular the Kiwi defence played well, and thfe Ex-Girls' forwards had difficulty in getting the ball through. In the second spell Kiwi found it a little more difficult to keep up the pace, and there were a lot of infringements. particularly “ stepping,” in both teams. The final score was 13—7 in favour of Ex-Girls. Miss E. Ferguson was the referee.

University v. Training College A University has not been very successful so far this season, and in this game it did not extend the College playeis.
