KING’S IN FORM

Dunedin played one short in the game against Kings, and also missed L. MacArthur, /who is usually the outstanding player in the defence. H. Harley, for Kings, had her most succesful game this season, scoring six goals, some of which were the result of brilliant efforts. The first half saw some clever play by the Dunedin goalkeeper, R. Sew Soy, who carried on gamely after receiving an injury to her face when stopping a fast shot from M. Eaton. The half-time score was 3—nil. In the second half the Kings forwards played sparkling hockey, and in spite of excellent defence by D. Leggett at fullback, whose anticipation and stick work must have caught the eyes of the selctors of the Otago team, they were irresistible and piled up the score with monotonous regularity. Other scorers for Kings were M. Eaton (3) and L. Riach. The umpires were Messrs C. Hayward and F. Scrivener
