ART TREASURES STOLEN

LONDON COLLECTION POLICE INVESTIGATING LONDON, June 10. The police are investigating the disappearance from a war-time refuge in London of £40,000 worth of art treasures, says the Daily Telegraph. The treasures belonged to a well-known personage who died recently and whose name is at present being kept secret. An appeal has been made to dealers and collectors throughout the world to help to trace the stolen articles. The theft became known when the execcutors visited the store to settle the estate. It is feared that the long delay before the discovery has made the thieves hard to trace. The missing pieces include rich old carpets, gold and silverware, and antique china.
