COOKED AND FROZEN

THE LATEST IN DINNERS WASHINGTON, June 10.

Post-war dinners ready made from the plate to the gravy are on their way. They are frozen dinners. The latest thing on trans-Atlantic airliners, they are now being perfected for the ordinary housewife. The dinner—meat, vegetable, potato —will be sold cooked and frozen to 20 degrees below zero, on a pulpwood plate sporting a plastic finish. All the housewife need do will be to leave the dinner in the oven for half an hour.

The problem of making all three ingredients come out even in reheating from the frozen stage has been overcome after six years’ research.
