AURORA OVER ENGLAND
A BRILLIANT DISPLAY COMMUNICATIONS JAMMED LONDON, Mar. 26. The greatest display of the Aurora Borealis over southern and western England in 10 years occurred last night, when the northern sky was suffused with green and yellow shades and deep touches of orange light. It was associated with unusually active sunspots which caused severe magnetic storms. As a result the Atlantic radio and telephone communications were jammed and aircraft radios blacked out. No transmissions were received from aircraft flying the Atlantic for eight hours, and radio messages to Australia were delayed.
