TYPHOON INJURED
A JARRED FETLOCK
(Special) WELLINGTON, Jan. 7. Typhoon was withdrawn from his engagements on the first two days of the Wellington Racing Club’s summer meeting at 9.15 a.m. to-day. This accounts for his name not appearing in the weights for the Wellington Cup. Typhoon jarred a fetlock a few days ago, and it has been found necessary to ease him in his work. He has been left in his engagement for the final day of the meeting. Beneve was not weighted for the Wellington Cup, as he was not eligible for nomination. The cup is confined to horses who have won a race of the value of £SOO or over to the winner, or races to a collective value of £750 or over. Beneve’s winnings fall below this mark. Our Bridge and The Stormovik were not weighted for the Apprentices’ Handicap, as both are still maidens, and horses of this class are not eligible for entry in the hack events at the Wellington meeting.
